National Truck Driver Appreciation: Sept 10-16, 2023

Many don't realize it but, nearly every aspect of daily life is made possible because a truck driver delivers the goods and resources people need. As a matter of fact, more than 80% of U.S. communities depend solely on trucking for the delivery of their goods and commodities.

National Truck Driver Appreciation Week is an important time for America to pay respect and thank all the professional truck drivers for their hard work and commitment in undertaking one of our economy's most demanding and important jobs. These professional men and women not only deliver our goods safely, securely, and on time, but they also keep our highways safe.

Did you know?:

  • There are over 3.5 million truck drivers in the U.S.

  • Total industry employment is 7.95 million people employed in trucking-related jobs. This includes 3.6 million professional drivers

  • U.S. trucks moved 10.5 billion tons of freight each year

  • Grocery stores would go out of stock in just three days if trucks stopped driving

  • As of 2023, there are roughly 1.2 million for-hire trucking companies operating in the US.

In celebration of our nation’s truck drivers, Sentry is holding daily sweepstakes for $500 Visa® gift cards from September 12-15 Drivers with a valid DOT number can enter once per day and do not need to be insured with Sentry in order to be eligible. The winners will be selected on Monday, September 18. Check Sentry's Facebook page daily starting Tuesday, September 12, for more details and your chance to enter!
